Store Manager

About the Role

The Store Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end retail store operations at Delhi International Airport, ensuring smooth 24x7 operations, strong sales performance, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective team management across rotational shifts.

The role requires strong commercial understanding, people management skills, operational discipline, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, security-controlled airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end store operations across rotating shifts and ensure seamless shift handovers.
• Prepare shift rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage while managing manpower budgets.
• Drive store revenue, Average Transaction Value (ATV), conversion rates, and category-wise sales targets.
• Drive upselling and cross-selling of high-margin and travel-exclusive products.
• Analyze flight schedules and passenger traffic to optimize staffing and stock allocation.
• Manage stock ordering, cycle counts, replenishment, and shrinkage control across all shifts.
• Coordinate with warehouse and CFA teams for timely inventory replenishment and store transfers.
• Ensure strict stock reconciliation and prevent pilferage through SOP adherence and CCTV monitoring.
• Ensure staff maintain valid Airport Entry Passes (AEP), security clearances, and required renewals.
• Maintain compliance with CISF, BCAS, customs, DIAL, fire safety, licensing, GST, and health & safety requirements.
• Recruit, train, motivate, and retain frontline store staff in a shift-based environment.
• Conduct shift briefings, performance reviews, and handle disciplinary or grievance matters when required.
• Maintain visual merchandising guidelines, planograms, and brand display standards across shifts.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and MIS reports covering sales, footfall, conversion, inventory, and manpower.
• Coordinate with airport authorities, DIAL, retail management, landlords, brand teams, and external vendors.
• Manage vendor coordination for store maintenance, housekeeping, and security services.

Must Have Skills & Competencies

• Strong people management skills with the ability to lead teams across rotational shifts.
• Strong numerical and commercial acumen, including understanding of sales, conversion, P&L, and shrinkage metrics.
• Working knowledge of POS, ERP, and inventory management systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, security-controlled, and time-sensitive environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with composure under pressure.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as part of the shift roster.
• Ability to manage multilingual customer-facing teams in an airport retail environment.
• Prior Airport Entry Pass (AEP) experience or willingness and eligibility to undergo airport security clearance.
• Valid passport is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
• Experience in retail store operations, team management, sales, or a similar customer-facing environment will be relevant.
