Project Officer – Civil Engineer/Agriculture Engineer

Role Summary

The Engineer will support the planning, technical implementation, supervision, monitoring and documentation of project interventions related to Natural Resource Management (NRM), water resource management, watershed development, drinking water, WASH, irrigation, agriculture, climate-resilient practices and rural infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Planning & Implementation

• Conduct field surveys, site assessments and technical feasibility studies for project interventions.
• Prepare technical designs, estimates, BOQs, DPRs and work plans for NRM, WASH, water, and agriculture-related activities.
• Supervise construction and ensure quality, measurements, specifications and timely completion of works.
• Support implementation of water harvesting, recharge structures, irrigation and other NRM interventions.
• Promote and support climate adaptation, natural resource conservation and sustainable resource-use practices.

Field Monitoring & Supervision

• Conduct regular field visits to monitor physical progress, quality, functionality and utilisation of project assets.
• Engage with farmers, WUGs, FIGs, SHGs, beneficiaries and village institutions and support team in community mobilisation and participation.
• Facilitate community meetings, awareness programmes, technical demonstrations and capacity-building activities.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with Gram Panchayats, government departments and other stakeholders for approvals, technical support and scheme convergence.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain technical records including measurements, GPS locations, photographs, site records and completion documentation.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly progress reports, technical updates, presentations and donor documentation.
• Collect and maintain data for monitoring, evaluation and assessment of project outputs and outcomes.
• Develop case studies, success stories, beneficiary profiles and testimonials highlighting project results and impact.

Project Planning & Proposal Support

• Support preparation of project proposals, budgets, work plans, review presentations and other technical documents.

Required Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. / M.Tech / M.E. in Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering.

Experience

• 2–3 years of experience in NGO, Development or CSR projects.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of NRM, watershed development, water conservation, groundwater recharge, irrigation and rural infrastructure.
• Understanding of drinking water, WASH and water-quality interventions.
• Knowledge of climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable natural resource management.
• Ability to prepare estimates, BOQs, DPRs and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD and GIS/GPS/QGIS will be preferred.
• Strong community mobilisation, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Good reporting, documentation and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in rural/tribal areas and undertake extensive field travel.

Preferred Experience

Experience in NGO/CSR/development projects, particularly in NRM, water resource management, watershed development, drinking water, WASH, agriculture, irrigation, climate resilience or rural infrastructure will be preferred.

Language Requirement

• Telugu and English proficiency required.
