Deputy General Manager – Resource Mobilization

About the Role

The Deputy General Manager - Resource Mobilization will be responsible for driving fundraising, donor management, proposal development, event and campaign management, and strategic resource mobilization initiatives. The role will focus on building and strengthening donor partnerships, achieving fundraising targets, and supporting the organisation’s overall resource mobilization strategy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Proposal Development & Fundraising

• Develop and refine proposals, concept notes, and reports in collaboration with project teams to attract new donors and retain existing ones.
• Generate and convert donor partner leads and provide proactive post-conversion support to ensure donor satisfaction.
• Ensure fundraising targets are met or exceeded in alignment with organisational goals.
• Support the development and achievement of the overall resource mobilization strategy and annual goals.
• Contribute to maintaining and updating the donor database, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

2. Donor Retention & Management

• Manage a donor portfolio of ₹15 Cr, focusing on large-scale donor relationships.
• Maintain proactive and periodic communication with donors to ensure satisfaction beyond regular service requirements.
• Provide personalised engagement and solutions tailored to donor needs, fostering long-term partnerships.
• Write and curate high-quality proposals, concept notes, and reports for donor activities, events, and campaigns.

3. Event & Campaign Management

• End-to-end manage and lead or support Resource Mobilization (RM)-related activities, events, and campaigns.
• Document and maintain the organisation’s event calendar and associated files and databases.
• Participate in organising events, donor engagements, and department-specific campaigns to further the organisation’s mission.

4. Organizational Development & Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with Managers handling smaller donor portfolios of ₹1–2 Cr to ensure alignment in donor management strategies.
• Participate in and support organisational and department development activities, including staff orientation, training, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to enhance skills in proposal writing, donor management, and fundraising strategies.

5. Compliance & Budget Management

• Ensure all proposals and donor engagements comply with organisational and legal standards.
• Manage budgets effectively, ensuring transparency and alignment with donor expectations.

Fund-Raising Sources to Focus On

• Corporate CSR / Public Sector Unit CSR / Other multilateral institutions.
• International donor agencies and other multilateral institutions.
• Schools and Colleges.
• Associations, Foundations, and Trusts.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in acquisitions and client-facing roles.
• Strong skills in budget management and proposal writing.
• Clear understanding of compliance and donor management.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Proven track record of securing partnerships.
